What’s the problem?

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA (Yamaha) is recalling certain model year 2015 FZ07 motorcycles manufactured May 1, 2014, to September 30, 2014. In the affected motorcycles, the positive battery cable may be pinched between the seat base and seat bracket.

What could happen?

If the battery cable is pinched, it may chafe and short-circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

What’s the fix?

Yamaha has notified owners, and dealers will replace the positive battery cable and seat bracket, free of charge. The recall began on October 31, 2014. Owners may contact Yamaha customer service at 1-800-962-7926. Yamaha's number for this recall is 990089.
